Emergency Contact Information

Students are encouraged to provide an emergency contact who may be notified if they are reported missing.

New students are asked to voluntarily provide emergency contact information through the Student Health Information Form during housing check-in. Students may also designate a confidential missing-person contact through Blue & Gold. This information can be updated as needed.

Emergency contact information is kept confidential and is provided only to authorized university officials and law enforcement as necessary for a missing-person investigation.

Contacting Family Members

UPD, University Housing & Residence Life, or the Dean of Students Office may contact the student's designated emergency contact or family members during a missing-person investigation.

If a student has not designated an emergency contact, UPD will use available university records and resources to continue the investigation. Family members who were not formally designated may also be contacted when necessary to help locate the student and ensure their safety.
