Hi, I’m Jessica Flores, and I serve as an Accommodation Counselor with the Disability Resource Center at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. I am a proud two-time alum of TAMUK, having earned my Bachelor of Social Work in 2004 and my Master of Social Work in 2025 — I truly bleed blue and gold!
I bring 20+ years of diverse professional experience spanning Social Work, Human Resources, and Marketing/Sales. My career has been defined by a strong commitment to helping individuals and organizations thrive, whether through direct client support, team development, or strategic growth initiatives. As a Social Worker, I have extensive experience serving diverse populations across multiple settings, including the medical field, high schools, and higher education institutions. My background has equipped me with skills in case management, advocacy, crisis intervention, and program development, while fostering empathy, cultural competence, and solution-focused approaches. I am passionate about creating inclusive environments, empowering individuals, and driving meaningful impact.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and a member of Texas Ahead (Association of Higher Education and Disability). On campus, I serve on both the Autism Ad Hoc Committee and the Disability Ad Hoc Committee. I’ve had the privilege of serving as the liaison for students with disabilities, helping connect them to the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) to promote inclusion and professional growth. I have also attended the Women in Higher Education Conference and continually seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and expertise in the field of higher education. I also proudly serve on the TAMUK Staff Council and participate in the President’s Aspiring Leadership Academy, where I continue to grow both personally and professionally. I believe that God placed a calling on my life to serve others with compassion and purpose. At TAMUK, I’m grateful for the opportunity to live out that calling each day by supporting our students and helping them achieve their goals.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, fishing, camping, cooking, spending time with my fur babies, and barbecuing with my better half & family. I am a military mom; my son & daughter both serve in the United States Navy. My faith and love for people guide my life and inspire me to make a positive difference wherever I go.
Ephesians 2:10: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them".
