KINGSVILLE (August 29, 2022) — Students from nearly 25 area middle and junior high schools will be on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville campus for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region Choir clinic and concert on Friday, Nov. 11.

Students who participate in the region choir have been invited by competitive audition. The top students from each section were chosen to be a part of the choir that will be rehearsing and performing a concert on Friday evening in the Music Education Complex, located on the corner of Armstrong and Santa Gertrudis Streets.

The association is bringing clinicians, Lizette Ochoa and Jaime Trigo, to work with all of the students on a set of music they will perform for the concert. Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

This will be the first time the region choir event has been held on the Texas A&M-Kingsville campus. The university will also host the UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition for Vocal and Piano in January 2023 and for Band in February 2023.
