TAMUK students awarded for theatre performance in student-produced play

Annie Baker's The Flick was produced by Alpha Psi Omega, a national drama fraternity, and directed by Laurie Guajardo.

Several Texas A&M University-Kingsville students will receive awards after their performance of Annie Baker’s The Flick in the Little Theatre last weekend.

 

A representative from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival attended the all-student production and responded by awarding the students, TAMUK Theatre Program announced.

 

The play was produced by Alpha Psi Omega, a national drama fraternity, and directed by Laurie Guajardo.

 

Students registered the production as an associate entry into the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festivala national theater program involving students from colleges and universities nationwide which has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States.

 

Two students, Etta Enow and Robin Machuca, are recipients of the Irene Ryan Acting Award. Ensemble actors and Lexi La Cour were given Meritorious Achievement for Performance and Caroline Dietz received an award for Makeup design.
