Dr. Riazi came to Texas A&M University – Kingsville from Montreal, Canada where he worked as a consultant for oil industry, invited speaker and researcher for one and a half years. Prior to that he served at Kuwait University as a Professor and Chairman of Chemical Engineering. He also served as an assistant professor at Pennsylvania State University as well as a visiting professor and scholar at various universities including NTNU/Trondheim, Sharif/Tehran, Illinois/Chicago, Wright State/Dayton, Texas/Austin, McGill/Montreal, Waterloo/Canada and IIT/India. In addition, he has been an invited speaker at more than 50 universities around the globe.

For more than 30 years he has been a consultant and speaker at the oil and gas industry and research centers in more than 40 countries where he also conducted some 50+ short courses. He has more than 150 publications including 7 books and a solutions manual. He is the founding editor and editor-in-chief of IJOGCT journal as well as editor of book series on Fuels and Petrochemicals for Talyor and Francis.  He has chaired many international conferences as well as Fuels and Petrochemicals Group at the AIChE Annual Meetings.

Dr. Riazi served as a director of Fuels and Petrochemicals Division of AIChE for the past three years and is a licensed professional engineer (P.Eng.) from Ontario, Canada.
