Austin McCoy, Academic Advisor II

             I graduated from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2004 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology.  I then decided to go on for my Masters degree and in May 2008 I graduated with my Master of Science degree in Psychology.  During that time I met my wife, Stephanie and in July 2008 we were married.  I also have a stepson, Barrett, who just started 5^th grade.  Before working here at the University, I worked out in San Diego, Texas at the Gateway Foundation located at the Glosbrenner Unit where I worked as a substance abuse counselor and developed and maintained clients treatment plans.  I really appreciated having the opportunity to work with offenders to teach them skills to better their lives for themselves and for their families.  It really strengthened me as a counselor. 

                 I enjoy working at Texas A&M University-Kingsville because it gives me the opportunity to work with students and help them to succeed in college.
