Relay for Life brings survivors, organizations together to fight cance: Texas A & M University-Kingsville’s University Blvd. was lit up with the names of cancer survivors and victims. Relay for Life brought in many participants this year. This was the fifth time TAMUK was the site for the event.

The Texas Department of State Health Services has released the statistics on sexually transmitted diseases for 2006, the last year which all available data has been studied. The data is divided into public health regions, then by counties.

Carmen Tafolla gave a writer’s workshop on March 6 in which students read poems and got reaction and help from Tafolla. Tafolla has written five books of poetry as well as non-fiction, screenplays, short stories, articles and children's works.
