Upward Bound Math and Science


Program Objectives


The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Upward Bound Math and Science Center (UBMS), funded by the Department of Education, has offered selected high school participants the opportunity to observe and participate with ongoing campus research studies in the areas of mathematics, science, and computer technology. These students were also given the opportunity to receive assistance from the faculty scientists and their assigned assistant mentors. Students participating in this program will be able to continue their research studies with the cooperation of their home schools and local Upward Bound projects during the academic follow-up year. The TAMUK UBMS Center key staff will develop strong liaisons with target area high schools identified and appropriate mentors and will coordinate its curriculum through the internet assisting students at their home site schools throughout the school year.
