Internship Phase
During the Internship, the Graduate Alternative Certification Program (G-ACP) student interns will secure a one year paid student teaching internship. G-ACP student interns are responsible for securing a teaching position in their certification area with a campus (School district, Charter School, or Private School) as a full-time teacher. Once the G-ACP student intern is hired and signs a contract with a campus the G-ACP student teacher intern will be responsible for applying for their Probationary Certificate. The G-ACP student teacher intern will also be responsible for giving their campus a copy of the A&M-San Antonio G-ACP contract that is required to be signed by the hiring campus, G-ACP student teacher intern and is required to be returned to the G-ACP office. As part of Internship the G-ACP student teacher intern is required to register for a graduate level Internship course for their first two semesters and for a graduate level Novice Teacher Induction course for the first semester. G-ACP student teacher interns will be encouraged to register for an additional graduate level course that will meet at least once a week at A&M-San Antonio. The G-ACP student teacher intern is responsible for paying the Internship fee of $3,000.00 to TAMUSA in ten monthly installments of $300.00 per month. The G-ACP student teacher internship fee will cover the expenses for the G-ACP Online- Mentorship, designated campus Mentor Teacher, and A&M-San Antonio University Partner.
