Nov. 17, 2003

Committee Meeting at 3 pm

The committee will propose and select 6 or 7 proposed goals for the Quality Enhancement Plan. Proposed goals that are not in the “2010” document should be supported with documentation of their effectiveness at other universities.

A Web Survey subcommittee will be identified. The job of the web survey subcommittee is (1) develop a survey instrument to post on the web to obtain input from faculty, staff, students, administrators, and other interested parties on the proposed goals and to obtain a ranking of the goals in order of priority, (2) to post the goals and the survey instrument on the web, and (3) to analyze and summarize, for the entire committee, the results of the survey regarding the goals. A format similar to that used by the Quality Enhancement Plan Committee at Texas Tech University should be used. Val Ramirez is the chair of the Technical Support Committee for SACS, and his committee should be able to assist the subcommittee in web support.

Dec. 1, 2003

Committee Meeting at 3pm

The Web Survey subcommittee will present the survey instrument to the entire committee, solicit input, and make revisions.

The Web Survey subcommittee will post goals for the Quality Enhancement Plan on the web for input from faculty, staff, students, administrators, and other interested parties by 5 December 2003 . The subcommittee will send mass emails informing the faculty, staff, and students about the website and encouraging their input.

Feb. 9, 2004

Committee Meeting at 12pm-catered lunch provided

The Web Survey subcommittee will present the results of the survey to the committee. The top 2 or 3 goals based on the survey will be selected for further development. Subcommittees will be identified to develop a report for each goal according to the guidelines and outline on pages 19-25 of the Handbook for Reaffirmation of Accreditation. A chair for each subcommittee will be identified. Subcommittees will meet separately to develop each goal. The first draft of the subcommittee reports (in electronic format) is due to the chair by 1 March 2004 . The chair will email the reports to the committee.

March 15, 2004

Committee Meeting at 3pm

The entire Planning Committee will review the subcommittee reports and make recommendations. The subcommittees will then: (1) make revisions based on recommendations by the entire committee, and (2) independently meet with all appropriate groups on campus to obtain buy-in and solicit input. The subcommittees will prepare a draft of their reports that incorporates suggestions by campus groups and submit them the chair in electronic form by 6 April 2004 .

April 12, 2004

Committee Meeting at 3pm

The entire Planning Committee will meet and review draft reports from the subcommittees and make suggestions for revisions. Subcommittees will make final revisions and post their reports on the web and solicit input via survey format or by email. Mass email will be used to inform the university community that the reports are available for comment. The subcommittees will summarize input and email summaries to the chair by 29 April 2004 .

May 3, 2004

Committee Meeting at 12pm-catered lunch provided

The entire planning committee will meet and evaluate input from the university committee. The subcommittees will prepare final drafts of their reports, and submit them to the chair by 15 July 2004 .

Sept. 1, 2004 Committee Chair will email draft of final report to the committee.
Sept. 6, 2004

Committee Meeting at 3 pm

The entire planning committee will meet to review the final draft of the planning committee report and suggest revisions.

Oct. 15, 2004 A final draft of the report will be emailed to the committee for final comments.
Nov. 1, 2004 Chair will submit final report to the University.
Completed Schedule
Jan. 15, 2003 Committee Chair will circulate interim report to the committee for review.
