A Proud History-A Bright Future
The Texas A&M University - Kingsville Army
ROTC Battalion has been proud to help develop the leaders of tomorrow.
Learn about our history here.

The Javelina Battalion
ROTC training began in South Texas at then Texas A&I
University in 1951. The program expanded to then Corpus Christi State University in December 1978
as the Javelina Battalion’s Charlie
Company. The company expanded its’ Basic Course instruction
to Del Mar College in the spring semester of 1984. In 1993, the
university changed its name to Texas A&M University - Kingsville. In 2003,
the battalion added two schools in Laredo, Tx. Texas A&M International University and Laredo Community
College have already made themselves known in South Texas and continue the
great traditions of the Javelina Battalion.
Even though the name changed, the mission
of ROTC has remained the same; that is to develop the future leaders of
our military and this great nation.
