Share your Christmas
I just wanted to take up your time once more to say a big THANK YOU. Once again, the Share Your Christmas campaign went extremely well. We collected more food items than last year. We didn’t quite reach our monetary totals from last year, but there have been many calamities this year that deserved our thoughts and checkbooks.

The campus community collected 894 food items and $711.38. Those are impressive totals!!! Some of the community went above and beyond the call, making generous donations. You know who you are…thanks so much.

I was on the air on KIII-TV this morning, just long enough to give our totals. The largest amount of money came from athletics….mostly coins. Coming in right behind was College Hall and College of Pharmacy.

A special thanks goes out to Al Tapia from KTAI who again this year hauled boxes of food in the radio station van. But the thanks don’t stop there. A round of applause goes out to my co-workers in public relations and publications that helped carry, count and collect all the food and money, especially our dedicated student workers.

Finally, I want to thank the student organizations who assisted in the collection. I couldn’t have done it without you. I also want to thank all the others who helped collect in their departments.

Since we gave our donation very early in the day, I don’t know how we compare to the other organizations in the Coastal Bend, but in my book, we are number one. The administration, faculty, staff and students at A&M-Kingsville proved again we are the best in South Texas.

Thanks again for all your help and support!

Go Hogs!!!
