In Memoriam
A memorial for Dr. Yuan R. Wang will be held today at 3:30 p.m. at the Restland Funeral Home in Richardson, Texas. He passed away on Tuesday, August 16.
Wang was an electrical engineering faculty member at Texas A&M-Kingsville from 1977-1999. He served as chair of the department from 1985-1996.
Born in Wuhan, Hupei, China in 1934, Wang had taught computer science at the University of Nebraska and the University of Pittsburgh prior to his service at A&M-Kingsville. He also had served as a development engineer at Western Electric Company and as a senior programming language researcher with the U.S. Army Computer Systems Command at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.
Wang held a B.S. from National Taiwan University, an M.S. from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. |

The graduate program in communication sciences and disorders at Texas A&M University-Kingsville was awarded re-accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language-Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
