University adds new Banners
Be Somebody

In continuing with the university's ongoing marketing and awareness efforts, new banners will be added to the website's front page.

Library Workshops
The Jernigan Library has scheduled workshops for the spring semester. All workshops are held in room 123 in the library. Call the reference desk at 361-593-3319 to reserve a space or for more information. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend on a first come, first serve basis.

A course in Introduction to Internet Searching will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 11. Students will learn basic Internet searching strategies using search engines and subject directories.

Two sessions in a Basic Photo Editing course have been scheduled. They will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, April 11, and again from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. Students will get an introduction to photo editing using Microsoft Photo Editor.

Beginning Excel will be taught from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. Students will learn the basics of cell structure using macros and mathematical functions. Students are asked to bring their own disk.

A course in Introduction to Texas State Documents will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. This is an introduction to search strategies for finding Texas government information, both electronic and print.

Center for Young Children to be named for Marc Cisneros

Marc Cisneros, former president of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, will be honored Sunday, April 3, when the university’s Center for Young Children will be dedicated in his name. Cisneros is credited with securing the funding to build the current facility. It replaced the previous building that had housed the school for 60 years. Read more»

Asian Pacific Heritage Awareness Banquet provides authentic meal, music and guest speaker

An Asian banquet complete with a guest speaker, slide show and musical entertainment happens Sunday, April 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union Building (MSUB) ballrooms at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Read more»

Dr. Scherpereel art work on display at Conner Museum

The works of Dr. Richard Scherpereel, art professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, will be on display from now until Friday, May 6, at the John E. Conner Museum. The style of the art is formalist, stressing the elements of art that speak to the nobility of mankind. Read more»

Kingsville's Relay for Life scheduled for April 8-9

Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be the host site for the Sixth Annual Kleberg County Relay for Life from 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, through 7 a.m. Saturday, April 9. Participants will use University Boulevard on campus for the walk. The relay benefits the American Cancer Society. Read more»

Noted astronomer, scientist Dr. Susana Deustua delivers last public physics lecture for 2004-2005

“Cosmology with Supernovae” is the subject of the last public physics lecture for the 2004-2005 academic year. Dr. Susana Deustua of the American Astronomical Society’s Harlow Shapley Visiting Lectureship will deliver the presentation Thursday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. in room 119 of Hill Hall, on the Texas A&M-Kingsville campus.
