Library Workshops
The Jernigan Library has scheduled workshops for the spring semester. All workshops are held in room 123 in the library. Call the reference desk at 361-593-3319 to reserve a space or for more information. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend on a first come, first serve basis.

Upcoming workshops include Resources in Education from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 7. Students will learn to find and use educational resources including electronic databases and internet resources. This course also will be taught from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10.

Introduction to Texas State Documents will be taught from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8. This is an introduction to search strategies for finding Texas government information, both electronic and print.

An Introduction to BIOSIS Previews also will be taught from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Learn how to search BIOSIS Previews for resources in biology, plant and animal science, agriculture, ecology and bioengineering.

For web beginners, a course entitled Creating a Web Page in FrontPage will be taught from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 8. A second session of this class will be taught from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10.

Electronic Resources in the Humanities and Social Sciences will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. This course provides an overview of search strategies for the library’s electronic databases in the humanities and social sciences.

Learn how to search PubMed for resources in medicine in the Introduction to PubMed class from 11 a.m. to noon March 10.

Career fairs give graduates, seniors opportunity to seek employment

The Office of Career Services at Texas A&M University-Kingsville has scheduled the Spring Career Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Student Union Building Ballrooms. This fair gives students and graduates a chance to visit with prospective employers. Read more»

Grad student's research on U.S. Citizens held in Russian Gulags during Korean War predates, elaborates on new Pentagon Report

In December 2004, history and politics graduate student Allen Baker handed in his research project for Political Science 5380: Advanced Problems. His topic was “The Transfer of American Korean War Prisoners into the Soviet Union.”Read more»

Texas A&M-Kingsville group to host environmental workshops for educators

Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be the site of a series of three workshops presented by the staff of the Texas State Aquarium. The Kingsville Chi Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society will host Project WILD, Project WILD Aquatic and Project Learning Tree on three consecutive Saturdays, April 2, 9 and 16.
