Library Workshops
The Jernigan Library has scheduled workshops for the spring semester. All workshops are held in room 123 in the library. Call the reference desk at 361-593-3319 to reserve a space or for more information. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend on a first come, first serve basis.
Upcoming workshops include Introduction to Federal Government Resources that will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28. Students will get an introduction to search strategies for finding Federal government information, both electronic and print.
Introduction to Electronic Searching will be taught from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2. Students will learn strategies for searching the Jernigan Library’s online catalog and electronic databases. |

Dr. Jianhong-Jennifer Ren receives prestigious National Science Foundation career award
Dr. Jianhong-Jennifer Ren, assistant professor with the department of environmental and civil engineering, has been awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Program for her work in particle dynamics and contaminant transport in rivers and streams.

Two chemistry students further success of Bridges to the Doctorate program
| Chemistry seniors Richard Sanchez Jr. of Robstown and Victor R. Villarreal of Bloomington received good news about the future of their education this semester. Both have been picked up by universities to pursue their doctoral degrees.
