CELLITTI VENEZUELAN DELEGATE TO WORLD CONFERENCE

KINGSVILLE (September 25, 1998) -- Dr. Anarella Cellitti, assistant professor and early childhood education coordinator at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, was the Venezuelan delegate to OMEP (Organización Mundial para la Educación Preescolar) World Pre-School Organization conference August 9-16.

"It was an honor to have Edith Bravo, the president of the Venezuelan Preschool Association, ask me to be the delegate," Cellitti said. Cellitti, past president of the South Texas Association for the Education of Young Children, said the association has a three-year partnership with the Venezuela Preschool Association.

As a delegate, Cellitti voted on OMEP's position statement for the next three years, a new president and on funding projects for the next year. After the conference, Cellitti attended post conference meetings in Oslo, Norway, where she observed different teacher training programs.
