PRE-SALE TICKETS READY FOR CARLOS

MENCIA SHOW, HIGHER AT THE DOOR

KINGSVILLE (Oct. 8, 1998) -- Tickets for the live Carlos Mencia show are now on sale at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Fans who want to attend the show at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at Jones Auditorium are encouraged to get their tickets now.

General admission tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Students are admitted free, but they must pick up their tickets prior to the event. Students will not be admitted free the night of the performance. Tickets may be purchased at the student services office on the third floor of the Student Union Building.

This is Mencia's second visit to Texas A&M-Kingsville in less than a year. He sold out his first show in March.

Mencia was born in Honduras, but moved to East Los Angeles with his family when he was an infant. While studying electrical engineering at Cal State Los Angeles, he made his first amateur appearance as a comedian at The Laugh Factory. A short time later, he became a regular at The Comedy Store.
