A&M-KINGSVILLE NAMES TOP MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEES 1/25/96

KINGSVILLE -- Plumber Noe Mendez has been named the 1996 Outstanding Employee by administrators of Texas A&M University-Kingsville's Physical Plant, which oversees maintenance at the institution. University electricians Rudy Garcia, Tommy Holliday and Roy Sanchez have been named Outstanding Crew for 1996.

Physical Plant Director Oscar Castillo praised both selections. "Mr. Mendez is a responsive, conscientious, and very dedicated plumber," Castillo said. "In spite of his long work days throughout the week, he keeps a positive attitude and provides quality workmanship. He is truly a professional."

Garcia, Holliday and Sanchez also won the director's acclaim. "Our electricians have consistently provided good quality service and timely support to meet the needs of the university students, faculty and staff," Castillo said. He added that the electricians have had a busy year, providing lighting for the new University Farm pavilion and the intramural field, as well as routing electricity to A&M-Kingsville's new telephone system. Castillo says the electricians effectively performed those and many other tasks while efficiently keeping up with day-to-day calls.
