Annual health fair scheduled November 16
KINGSVILLE (November 10, 2005) — Life Services and Wellness at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will host a Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the ballrooms of the Memorial Student Union Building. The Health Fair is open to the community as well as faculty, staff and students.
In addition, two lab tests will be given from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Fasting is recommended for the cholesterol screening and the complete metabolic testing. Each test is $10.
Panels given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. include screening for alcohol, anxiety, blood pressure, body composition, depression, diabetes, eating disorders, speech and hearing. Fasting is recommended for the diabetes screening.
Booths providing information will be from the American Cancer Society, Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg, Christus Spohn Physical Therapy, Crime Victims Services, Coastal Bend AIDS Foundation, Coastal Bend College, Coastal Bend MHMR, Curves for Women, Department of State Health Services, Family Counseling Services, Indian Students Association, Jagg Fitness and Ida’s Tae Bo, Jamba Juice, Kingsville Nursing and Rehab, Lab Corp, Life Services and Wellness Counseling, Nutrition Counseling, PEP Talk, Planned Parenthood, Recreational Sports, Steele Home Medical Equipment, Therapeutic Massage by Dora, University Police Department, Women’s Center and Life Services and Wellness Women’s Health department.
There will be giveaways including a $30 gift card for Academy, tickets to the Corpus Christi Hooks, passes to the Texas State Aquarium and more.
