Choirs invited to perform at Del Mar's Wolfe Recital Hall Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
KINGSVILLE (November 17, 2005) — The Del Mar College music department has invited choirs of Texas A&M University-Kingsville to perform at Wolfe Recital Hall this Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m.
Wolfe Recital Hall is located on the Del Mar campus. Admission is free.
Dr. Joan Jooyeon Lee, interim director of choral activity & voice/opera at A&M-Kingsville, will direct the Concert Choir, Chamber Voices and the vocal jazz group VOX. They will be performing works from Josquin, Victoria, Mozart, Lauridsen, Martin and others.
In addition, Dr. Arikka Gregory, assistant professor of voice at A&M-Kingsville and a mezzo-soprano, will perform the music of Strauss, Ronald and Bizet.
Gregory has performed with the Austin Lyric Opera and the Texas Early Music Project, and was a soloist under the baton of Robert Shaw in a presentation of Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
