Two master's level College of Education programs to be offered through Distance Education in Fall 2005
KINGSVILLE (August 9, 2005) — The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents authorized two College of Education master’s degree programs to be offered through distance education starting in fall 2005.
The programs to be offered are counseling and guidance, and education administration.
Distance learning provides students with the opportunity to take classes for these programs online and through interactive television, as well as off-campus in Pleasanton.
“Distance education opens up these programs to rural communities and to those who aren’t able to come to the campus because of job or family commitments,” said Dr. Mike Daniel, dean for the College of Education.
This is the first time graduate level College of Education programs have been offered through distance learning, with more planned for the near future.
Master’s degree distance education programs in adult education and instructional technology will be up for approval by the Board of Regents in September.
