Texas A&M University-Kingsville plans President's Legacy Ball

KINGSVILLE (March 15, 2004) --- Six former presidents will join Texas A&M University-Kingsville’s president and first lady, Rumaldo and Teresa Juarez, when they host the President’s Legacy Ball Saturday, March 20, 2004 in the Grand Ballrooms of the Student Union Building.

The evening will feature dinner, dancing and a silent auction, and the unveiling of plaques for the Legacy Wall of Honor. The wall is a tribute to all individuals, families, corporations and foundations that have made cumulative donations of more than $100,000 to the university.

Former presidents joining the festivities are Dr. Kay Clayton, interim president in 2001-2002, Lt. Gen. Marc Cisneros, president from 1998-2001, Dr. Manuel Ibanez, president from 1989-1998, Dr. Steven Altman, president from 1985-1989, Dr. Duane M. Leach, president from 1977-1980, and Dr. Gerald B. Robins, president from 1973-1977.

Musical entertainment will be provided by The Pictures, the Austin variety dance group selected by President George W. Bush to play at both his gubernatorial and presidential inaugurations.

The Legacy Society, created to recognize the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations who have given individual or cumulative donations to A&M-Kingsville in an amount equal or greater than $100,000, will be unveiled with a series of plaques acknowledging The AEP Foundation, The American Petroleum Institute, The Amoco Foundation, Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, Mr. & Mrs. Lee M.
