Dr. Ann Fronckowiak is currently the Assistant Professor of Oboe and Music Theory at Texas A&M-Kingsville, where she teaches applied oboe lessons, woodwind class, basic musicianship, and ear training.  She has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony, Columbus Ballet, Dayton Philharmonic, Roanoke Symphony, Erie Chamber Orchestra, Erie Ballet Orchestra, Opera Roanoke, and Western New York Chamber Orchestra, playing principal, second, third, and bass oboes, along with the oboe d'amore and English horn.  Dr. Fronckowiak has also been recorded on two National Public Radio broadcasts, has given numerous solo and chamber recitals in New York City, Columbus, Ohio, and Buffalo, New York.  Recently, as part of the Johnstone Woodwind Masters Series in Columbus, Ann was one of two oboists invited to perform a featured solo in recital with Joseph Robinson, retired principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic and Series honoree.  In addition, she has performed with such pop artists as Ben Folds, Debbie Reynolds, and Art Garfunkel. 
Dr. Fronckowiak completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in December of 2006 from The Ohio State University where she studied oboe with Robert Sorton and received the Dr. Peter A. Constanza Award for the most distinguished music dissertation of the year, a theoretical analysis of John Harbison's Oboe Concerto.  In addition, she was awarded the esteemed Presidential Fellowship in research, culminating in her interview of Mr. Harbison and publication in The Double Reed.  Prior to her appointment at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Ann served on the music faculties of State University of New York at Fredonia and Earlham College in Indiana and also worked as a freelance musician in New York City.  Dr. Fronckowiak previously studied with Joseph Robinson while earning a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music and Dr. Sarah Hamilton while completing a Bachelor of Music from the State University of New York at Fredonia.  Former teachers also include Mark Dubois and Rodney Pierce.
