We invite you to visit the campus of Texas A&M-Kingsville, the oldest public institution of higher learning in South Texas and the most forward-thinking. From our roots in the teachers' school movement of the early 20th century to our status today as the premier research institution in South Texas and the region's greatest university, A&M-Kingsville has always reflected the cultural diversity and traditions of South Texas.
Media Visit Policy: Members of the media are invited to visit the Texas A&M University-Kingsville campus. We ask that they first contact a representative of the Office of Public Relations to help facilitate the visit. Communications specialists in the Office of Public Relations are better able to contact members of the faculty and staff to arrange interviews. Media advisories are sent to the appropriate media for special events and breaking stories. General news releases are sent out on a regular basis.
While on campus, we also ask that members of the media treat all members of the University community with respect.

Giving to A&M-Kingsville
The Office of Development is charged with securing funds for scholarships, the A&M-Kingsville Foundation and many other projects requiring monies not allocated by the state of Texas.

The President's Circle
The President's Circle supports our scholarship program, which targets the region's top academic achievers and awards them renewable scholarships at A&M-Kingsville. These funds are also used to support dedicated faculty who foster a relevant, productive learning environment through exemplary teaching and research. The President's Circle is instrumental in meeting the university's goal of supporting the continued growth and development of the research and collaborative efforts of our faculty.
Research
Texas A&M University-Kingsville boasts a research budget larger than any university in South Texas. In the 2000 version of the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, Texas A&M-Kingsville is listed as Doctoral/Research University-Intensive, the second highest category possible. System Center-San Antonio
The System Center, which was created to address an educational need in South San Antonio, offers upper division college classes on the Palo Alto campus. The System Center offers programs in business administration-management, computer information systems, interdisciplinary studies (elementary education), nursing, psychology, and criminology. In 2001 the System Center began offering the first university agriculture program in San Antonio with junior- and senior-level courses leading to bachelor's degrees in agribusiness, and plant and soil science with a horticulture option. Portable classroom buildings now enable students to take courses during daytime hours and are in close proximity to the Ozuna Learning center and a parking lot, as well as near the Palo Alto College Student Center where the System Center administrative offices are Located. First-time freshmen are now able to apply for admission at any of the four campuses within the Alamo Community College District and automatically will be accepted for admission at the System Center when they complee their two-year degrees at either Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College or St. Philip's College.

Distance Learning & Continuing Education
Learning at the University doesn't stop with a degree; it doesn't even stop when your professor is hundreds of miles away. Distance Learning and Continuing Education offer adult education classes and distance learning classes. Visit their website to learn more about the courses they offer.
