Welcome Javelina Parents!!
I take great pride in welcoming you to the Javelina Parents’ Association.
As you are very aware, parents play a significant role in the lives of their college-age sons and daughters. Research indicates that students whose parents have pride in the institutions they attend and who are knowledgeable about campus resources are more likely to be retained and to graduate. Given this information and our desire to share our exciting news and events with our students’ parents, Texas A&M University-Kingsville is proud to announce the creation of the Javelina Parents’ Association. The purpose of the new association is to provide you with resources that will help your sons and daughters to be successful in college and to keep you informed of what is happening on campus.
There are many benefits of becoming a member of the Javelina Parents’ Association including early invitations to campus events like Family Weekend and discounts at those events, and electronic copy of the association newsletter and special offers for scholarships drawings for children who are enrolled. Members also will receive a stylish Javelina Parents’ Association bumper sticker so you can take your Javelina Pride with you wherever you go. Best of all, in our inaugural year (2010-2011) membership to the Javelina Parents’ Association is FREE!!
Membership forms will be available in the residence halls during move-in days as well as in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (220 College Hall) and in the Office of the Dean of Students (3rd floor of the Memorial Student Union Building). The form also will be functioning on this website soon!!
If you have any questions about the Javelina Parents’ Association, or have questions about resources available to your son or daughter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a great year, and GO HOGS!!
Terisa C. Riley, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President of Fiscal & Student Affairs
