Minutes from the Graduate Council Meeting of February 14, 2006

Faculty Present: Drs. Bradley, Downs, Faruqi, Fields, Martinez, Massa, Nelson, Oh, Shorter, Stallone, Wagman

Faculty Absent: Drs. Ballard, Estrada, Hewitt, Olivares

Graduate Student Representatives Present: Mr./Ms. Anderson, Jaimes, Nava

Graduate Student Representative Absent: Mr./Mrs. Gutierrez, Hernandez, Mohanlal

I. Dr. Massa, presiding in Dr. Olivares’ absence, called the Council meeting to order at 2:45 p.m. in the Blue Room of Sam Fore Hall. The minutes from the last meeting were approved.

II. Standing Committee Reports

A. No report by the Executive Committee

B. Dr. Bradley, speaking for the Curriculum Committee, presented the Master of Science in Ranch Management proposal, which was passed with little discussion.

C. No report by the Membership Committee; the membership deadline has passed; Dr. Faruqi indicated that new members might be presented at the next meeting.

D. No report by the Program Review Committee, since revision was ongoing.

III. The dean had nothing to report.

IV. Student representatives brought up no business to discuss.

V. There was no old business.

VI. There was no new business.

VII. A motion was made to adjourn and seconded at 3:10 p.m. The Council’s next meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, 21 March and Tuesday 18 April.
