About the Comptroller

Paula Hanson, Interim Comptroller
Ms. Hanson

Paula Hanson became comptroller in 2008. She began working at the university in 1997 as a special assistant to the assistant vice president in the Division of Finance and Administration. She was promoted to the chief accountant position in 2000 and was named assistant comptroller in 2002, where her duties included overseeing accounting, property management and auditing, and preparing financial reports and the budget for the university.

Hanson is an alumna of the university, graduating summa cum laude with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1997 and received her C.P.A. in 2008. She received the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award after graduation. Hanson is a Kingsville native and a graduate of H. M. King High School.
