Summer Aid Application Process

2017 Summer Application Form

  • The Summer 2017 Financial Aid Application is now online. If you plan to attend Summer 2017 and would like to apply for Summer Aid, please turn in your completed form. (forms can be submitted in person, or by fax at: 361-593-3026)
  • Summer financial aid eligibility at Texas A&M University‐Kingsville (TAMUK) is primarily contingent on funds remaining from the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 award year. Therefore, if you used all of your Pell Grant and/or student loan eligibility during these terms you may not have remaining eligibility for the summer. Completing this form does not guarantee aid eligibility.

Disbursement of Federal Pell Grant and Federal SEOG

If you received a Federal Pell Grant for full time enrollment during the Fall and Spring terms, you will not be awarded Federal Pell Grant for the summer term. To receive Summer Federal SEOG, you must be Pell Grant eligible.  If you attended and received Federal Pell Grant for a single semester, or attended and were awarded as Part-time, may have Pell eligibility remaining for summer 2017. If your summer enrollment is split between summer sessions that start on different dates, the Office of Student Financial Aid will only disburse the Federal Pell Grant/SEOG portion for your coursework that has already begun. Disbursement is made no earlier than 7 days prior to the first day of class for that term.

Disbursement of Student Loan Proceeds

You may not receive aid from multiple institutions during the same enrollment period (Summer 2017).  Your summer loan eligibility is affected by federal loan money awarded at TAMUK/TAMU-SA or another institution during the aid year. If you maximized the receipt of Federal Direct Loan eligibility during the academic year, you may not be eligible for additional funding. Dropping below half-time will result in cancellation of your Summer Loan award. Disbursement will occur once enrollment has been certified for half-time status (6 credits for undergraduate students and 4.5 credits for Graduate level students).
