TAMUK Scholarship General Information

Incoming Freshman students must turn in the common scholarship application by the deadline of February 15th.

Transfer students must turn in the common application by the deadline of June 1st.

Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be eligible for consideration.

The Scholarship application and its required documentation will be copied for distribution to the departments where the students might qualify for scholarships.

Freshman must submit high school transcripts with class rank posted, ACT (21) or SAT (970) test scores, (ACT 19 or SAT 920 for ROTC scholarships), and two letters of recommendation along with the completed scholarship application.

Transfer students must submit official transcripts from all colleges attended, two letters of recommendations, as well as the completed scholarship application.

Students may attach an additional page if necessary to list all school related activities and achievements, special honors and awards.

All scholarship applications are put into a database and the selections are made by a committee of at least committee members in either the department of the students major or by the general scholarship committee as in the case of the general scholarships.

Students will be notified by written letter of each scholarship award.

Students who are already attending the university are not eligible to turn in a Freshman/Transfer student scholarship application.  This student must contact the department of their major for scholarships offered to students through each department.

Several major corporations and companies send scholarship applications throughout the year to the Scholarship Department.  These scholarships are not handled by the university but the general information and contact information is posted in the glass-cased bulletin board in the hallway just outside the Financial Aid Office for the students.
