Texas A&M-Kingsville Opera Workshop Presents Mozart's 'The Magic Flute'

The Opera Workshop of Texas A&M University-Kingsville will present W.A. Mozart’s masterwork The Magic Flute April 19-20 in the Smith Recital Hall of Bellamah Music Building on the A&M-Kingsville campus.

            The story follows the journey of Prince Tamino and Papageno, a bird-catcher for the Queen of the Night, as they meet mysterious creatures, spirits and people while looking for truth and love. The fully-staged and costumed production will be performed in English and directed by Dr. Melinda Brou, assistant professor of music at A&M-Kingsville. Francisco Prado will conduct the production that will also feature four-hand piano by Zachary Harwell and Allison Ulmer.

            Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19 and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 20. These performances are free and open to the public.
