Kick off the holiday season this year with a Texas A&M University-Kingsville tradition. The Department of Music will present the 29th Annual Jazz Bash at 7 p.m. November 20 in Jones Auditorium on the campus of A&M-Kingsville. This event is free and open to the public.
Jazz Bash is the jazz program’s annual fall concert extravaganza that features performances by A&M-Kingsville jazz ensembles. It is held every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
The concert will include performances by Jazz Bands II & III directed by James Warth, associate professor of music, and Jazz Band I directed by Dr. Paul Hageman, professor of music. The concert also will feature the A&M-Kingsville Latin Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Jason Kihle, assistant professor of music.
Selected musical pieces include: Bill Bailey, Foe Destroyer, The Southeast Sixstep, Counting to Infinity, Rhythm-a-ning, No Spring Chicken, The Nearness of You, Lil’ Liza Jane, A Child is Born, Blue Daniel, So What, and Another Look at the Diminished Chord.
