First Public Astronomy Viewing of the Fall Semester

The public is invited to the first public astronomy viewing of the fall 2012 semester at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Observatory at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 20.

The free viewing is in the Observatory on the third floor of Hill Hall, located east of the Memorial Student Union Building. Parking is available in the lot next to Jones Auditorium and Manning Hall, on the corner of Santa Gertrudis and Armstrong, and along Santa Gertrudis.

Weather permitting, featured objects for this viewing will include the moon, Mars, the globular cluster in Hercules, the double star Albiera and more. In the event of poor viewing conditions or inclement weather, there will be a video screened downstairs in room 119 of Hill Hall.
