Welcome to the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  Home of the Javelina Engineers!

The College is a leading provider of exciting and foundational engineering education in South Texas and is located on the historic campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  The College is named for a pioneer in Natural Gas Engineering and a founding dean, Dr. Frank H. Dotterweich. The College started in 1936 and is built on the legacy of “Doc” Dotterweich and his colleagues as Texas A&I University.  Today, the College is home to nearly 1500 aspiring undergraduate and graduate engineering and technology majors.  Our alumni have achieved significant professional successes and are spread all over Texas, throughout the nation, and around the globe. Read more»

2014 Senior Dinner & Order of the Engineer Ceremony

May 8, 2014 graduating seniors and their guest attended the senior dinner and The Order of Engineers. The Order of the Engineer is a national organization whose purpose is to foster a spirit of pride, individual integrity, and responsibility in the engineering profession. It promotes ethics and professionalism in the practice of engineering and bridges the gap between education and pratice.

Institute for Sustainable Energy & the Environment (ISEE)

ISEE hosted 50 students from Porter High School and Hanna High School from Brownsville ISD on April 10th  at the 16th  Annual Water Quality Conference at South Padre Island, Texas.  The City of Edinburg unveiled its Stormwater mascot, Sheriff "Aguas", during the activities.

The Annual Engineering Senior Design conference held on Thursday, April 24 was very successful.  All participants that attended were impressed with the caliber of fine engineering students.                                                                                                                      



The College of Engineering looks forward to announcing and presenting awards during the Engineering's annual Engineering Senior Dinner to be held Thursday, May 8th.



Engineering Students Take Top Honors in Steel Bridge Competition

2014 Steel Bridge Competition

Engineering students at Texas A&M-Kingsville are coming out on top. Students participated in a Texas-Mexico Steel Bridge Competition January 18, 2014. The team constructed a steel bridge in 13.35 minutes. That was the fastest time of any school competing. The A&M-Kingsville team walked away with first place in construction speed. In all, 12 engineering students competed in the regional portion of the competition in Arlington.



On November 19th 2013, South Texas College (STC) and the Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering signed an articulation agreement designed to facilitate the transfer of students from the Pre-Engineering Program at STC to the Bachelor of Science programs in Architectural Engineering (BSAE), Chemical Engineering (BSChE), Civil Engineering (BSCE), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Environmental Engineering (BSEnvE), Mechanical Engineering (BSME), and Natural Gas Engineering (BSNGE) programs at Texas A&M University at Kingsville (TAMUK). “STC is one of our most important colleges” quoted Dr. Stephan Nix, Dean of Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering, “This agreement will make it easier for STC students to obtain engineering degrees. STC students receive a really good education and we look forward to seeing more of them at TAMUK”, said Nix.
