Jeong Yang, Lecturer of Computer Science
Ms. Jeong Yang received her B.S. degree in Computer Science from Hallym University, South Korea, and her M.S. degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Auburn University. She was in the Ph.D. program in Auburn University for four years. She joined the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Texas A&M University -Kingsville in 2008.
Teaching: Ms. Yang has taught or is teaching the following courses: Introduction to Computer Science, Introduction to Computing Using Visual Basic and Excel, Data Structures & Algorithm, Object-Oriented Programming, Object-Oriented Software Engineering, Database Systems, Software Engineering I, and Web Application Programming with PHP/MySQL. She received the Dean's award for the Professor of the year of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science in 2013, and the Texas A&M University System Student Recognition Award for Teaching Excellence in Spring 2011. She also was nominated for Non-Tenure Track Teaching Excellence Award and "Be All You Can Be" Faculty Award in 2010.
Research and Scholarly Activities: Ms. Yang is currently working for the project, "Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program Capacity Building: Future STEM Teachers in South Texas (F(ST)2)" as a senior programmer to build a Cyber Social Community for stakeholders involved in the project. She slao has two on-going projects, "Development of Texas Animal Control Association Membership Management System" granted from Texas Animal Control Association and "Construction Scheduling with Primavera P6 for Kiewit Olympus TLP project" granted from Kiewit Offshore Services, Ltd.
