Dr. Gahangir Hossain, Assistant Professor, EE/CS

Dr. Gahangir Hossain

Dr. Gahangir Hossain joined as an assistant professor in the department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Frank H. Dotterweich College of Engineering, Texas A&M University, Kingsville, TX, since Fall 2015. Earlier, was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the department of Electrical &Computer Engineering, Purdue School of Engineering & Technology, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Indianapolis, IN, (2014-2015)

Dr. Hossain completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from The University of Memphis, TN (2014), where he was trained in interdisciplinary research on cognitive and cyber-assistive system engineering.  He also completed his second masters in Electrical &Computer Engineering (2013), graduate certification in Cognitive Science (2011) and Software Testing from the same University.  Prior to that, he completed his first masters in Computer Science & Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (2008) and Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Computer Science from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (2000), Bangladesh. He also served as an Assistant Professor (promoted from lecturer) in the department of Computer Science & Engineering, Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh (2001 -2008). 

Dr.Hossain's multidisciplinary research interest includes Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cognitive Vision, Cyber-Human Systems, Behavioral Bio-Signal Processing and Brain & Cognitive Sciences.
