Undergraduate Work:  B.S. in Biology/Biochemistry, University of Alcala de Henares, Madrid, Spain.

Doctoral Work: Ph.D. in Biochemistry, University Autonoma de Madrid, Madrid, Spain.

Past Research:
Study of a mutant strain from the yeast species Saccharomyces cerevisiae that is unable to use glucose as a carbon source.  Regulation of Apoptosis or Programmed Cell Death (PCD).

Current Research: Regulation of Apoptosis or Programmed Cell Death (PCD).

Best Advice Ever Received:  Enjoy everything you do.

Hobbies:  Above all, sports (cycling, tennis, hiking, skiing) and dance.  Also, music, travel, camping, and books.

What Influenced you to study Chemistry:  I studied Biochemistry because I love "living things".  For me, learning the molecular basis that makes life possible is the most interesting thing I could ever do.  I am always amazed at the degree of perfection that biochemical systems have acquired over the many years of evolution.
