Chartered by the U. S. Congress in 1876, the American Chemical Society (ACS) is the world's largest scientific society, with well over 150,000 members. ACS advances knowledge and research through scholarly publishing, scientific conferences, informational resources for education and business, and professional development efforts. ACS also plays a leadership role in educating and communicating with public audiences - citizens, student, public leaders, etc - about the important role that chemistry plays in identifying new solutions, improving public health, protecting the environment, and contributing to the economy. |

| Society Objectives | The American Chemical Society Student Affiliate (ACSSA) is a pre-professional organization for those with an interest in chemistry. Naturally, many members of the ACSSA TAMUK chapter are Chemistry, Biology, and Chemical Engineering majors, but our group has also included Business, Art, Electrical Engineering and Agriculture majors. Basically our group is for anyone who loves chemistry, likes to help the community, and of course, loves to have FUN!!!
