Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez visits alma mater for annual Lectureship
Series
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez will visit his alma
mater, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, to present the annual University
Lectureship Series beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 at Jones Auditorium.
Prior to giving the lecture, Sanchez will meet with members of the A&M-Kingsville
ROTC and talk to other students in classes.
The general’s awards and badges include the Defense Distinguished
Service Medal, the Distinguished Service Medal with oak leaf cluster,
the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with two oak leaf
clusters, the Bronze Star Medal with “V” device and oak leaf
cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the
Joint Service commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army
Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the National Defense Service
Medal with two service stars, the Southwest Asia Campaign Medal, the Liberation
of Kuwait Medals (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), the NATO medal and the Master
Parachutist Badge.
Sanchez was selected by the Javelina Alumni Association as one of Texas
A&M University-Kingsville’s Distinguished Alumni for 2003.
