Personnel Profile

Sandy Allen, Museum Educator

Sandy Allen

I became Museum Educator at the Conner Museum in December 2013. As Educator, I am responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and materials for primary and secondary students, special groups, and the general public; facilitating collaborative educational opportunities between the Museum and university ; and for coordinating the Coastal Bend Regional History Fair and Camp Conner, the Museum’s summer day camp program.

I am a native Texan, born and raised in Kingsville, TX. I attended private and public schools here, graduating from Texas A&I University in 1977 with a B.S. in Education. I have lived in the East Coast and the West Coast, and seen many things in between, providing me a broad perspective on America.  My travels have allowed me to visit many landmarks, sites, and historical places.  I returned to my hometown in 1992 to raise my two daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking and gardening.

My professional experiences include teaching 6th grade in Corpus Christi, TX, and teaching 7th and 8thgrade ELAR at Memorial Middle School in Kingsville. My cumulative teaching experience spans over 20 years. Other activities I was involved with were the gifted and talented program, student council, and University Interscholastic League.

I wholeheartedly look forward to working with our community. It is with a joyful heart that I continue educating future generations while learning from generations past. The Conner Museum is a fascinating place to visit and learn.
