Museum Lobby

The Museum Lobby retains many of the building's original features, such as the original Mexican tiles and painted wooden beams. Also examine the 1500 lb. anchor recovered from the Spanish ship Santa María de Yciar, shipwrecked off Padre Island in 1554. When the lobby is not being utilized for receptions, the Museum Gift Shop occupies this space with a variety of books, jewelry, stuffed toys, and other souvenirs of South Texas.

Remember to bring cash or check; the Museum cannot process credit or debit cards.
