Dr. Brooke Mascagni
Assistant Professor, Political Science
Brooke Mascagni was born and raised in Kentucky, earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University, and completed a Ph.D in political science and feminist studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is experiencing culture shock since her recent move from California to South Texas, but is embracing her new adventure in the Lone Star State. Her research and teaching interests include American politics, gender studies, social movements, drug policy reform, and qualitative methods. Professor Mascagni works with the Women's Shelter of South Texas and co-directs a service-learning project on domestic violence and norms of masculinity. She is inspired by students dedicated to social justice.
