COVID-19 Certification

Texas A&M University- Kingsville seeks to preserve the safety and well-being of all students, employees, and visitors at its properties and facilities. In an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to protect the Campus, we ask that you wear a face covering and additionally review and acknowledge this Certification.

You may not visit this campus if you:

  • Have a diagnosis or suspected case of coronavirus;
  • Are currently exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19 as they are listed on the CDC webpage and this document;
  • Have had close (less than six feet) contact with anyone that has a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days; and
  • In the last 14 days have returned from travel or traveled through an area with state or local travel restrictions that mandate quarantine upon arrival.

Events

  1. For events under the sponsorship of a university department or office requesting use of the Memorial Student Union, Jones Auditorium, Mesquite Grove, the Pavilion, and any outside university courtyards and spaces, the facility request must be made through the Event Planning Office, MSUB 212, Telephone 361-593-4173. Indoor events may not exceed the posted room capacity. Outdoor events exceeding ten persons will be referred to the Events Review Committee for final approval.
  1. If you’re expecting to have off-campus attendees:
    1. Provisions must be made for visitors to complete a COVID-19 Certification Form. Regardless of venue, if an event includes attendance by visitors, the event must be registered through Event Planning. The event will then be registered at SimplyBook.me to allow visitors to register for the event and through that, they can self-certify their C-19 status. The event link can be emailed to prospective event attendees for registration. The organizer will provide a paper copy of the self-certification form on site to visitors who were unable to complete it online.
    2. Event Planning will be able to monitor registrants for compliance (all application questions require a response for registration completion and submission).
  1. Some general information:
    1. Organizer is responsible for implementing required C-19 precautions.
    2. Attendees must scan a QR code in the room (to help with subsequent contact tracing, should the need arise).
    3. No food or beverages other than that served by Aramark.
    4. Campus tours cannot exceed 10 persons including the tour guide(s). For large attendance, staggered attendance/participation is recommended.

Continuing Daily Self-Assessments

If you will be visiting our campus more than once, we further request that you conduct a self-assessment before coming to Campus to determine if you are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of, or exposure to, COVID-19 as they are listed by the CDC website and below:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body ache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache

If you have had any of the above signs, symptoms, or potential exposure to COVID-19, contact your university representative as soon as reasonably possible. Each time you come to Campus, your presence signifies that you have conducted a daily self-assessment and that you are not exhibiting any of the above signs or symptoms of, or exposure to, COVID-19.
