2022 Staff Council Employee Awards
This award is presented annually to a Texas A&M University-Kingsville staff member who demonstrates a passion for their work, the institution, and University tradition. The recipient shows promise in their field and is making a large impact on the University and community in the short time (twelve months to five years) that they have been a part of the Texas A&M University-Kingsville staff.
Eligibility
Faculty, staff and students may nominate a staff employee, but an employee cannot self-nominate.
- Candidate must be a current full-time employee of the University
- Candidate must have a minimum of 12 full-time months of distinguished service to students, faculty, staff and Texas A&M University-Kingsville, but no more than five years.
- Staff Council members are not eligible to be nominated for this award.
Selection Criteria
Nominee should meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrates leadership and provides guidance in interacting with the public, staff, faculty, and students above and beyond the expectations of his/her role.
- Shares information and ideas to help others achieve their goals
- Has contributed above and beyond the call of duty to the development, implementation, and fostering of advances in departmental operations, creative services, and/or successful programs.
- Enhances the customer service experience by acting promptly and efficiently in a professional, courteous, and cheerful manner even under stressful circumstances.
This award is presented annually to a Texas A&M University-Kingsville staff member in recognition of exceptional leadership, service and a passion for excellence. Through their actions and contributions, the nominee has made Texas A&M University-Kingsville the outstanding university that it is.
Eligibility
Faculty, staff and students may nominate a staff employee, but an employee cannot self-nominate.
- Candidate must be a current full-time employee of the University.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 25 full-time years of distinguished service to students, faculty, staff and Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
- Staff Council members are not eligible to be nominated for this award.
Selection Criteria
Nominee should meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrates exceptional service / leadership over a significant period of time. This award is for lifetime achievement rather than a single contribution.
- Displays a wisdom and depth of service / leadership that has made a significant difference to individuals or groups.
- Exemplifies the core values of Texas A&M University-Kingsville (Excellence, Integrity, Opportunity, Discovery and Service) through their interaction with students / faculty, staff and the community.
- Promotes excellence within the University.
This award is presented annually to a staff member from Texas A&M University-Kingsville who consistently demonstrates a high degree of excellence in service and support to staff, faculty, students and members of the community. Service excellence is demonstrated by consistently delivering service that is responsive, respectful, collegial and supportive.

- Candidate must have been employed full-time at the University for a minimum of 12 months.

- Demonstrates the provision of the highest level of service to students, faculty, staff, and/or members of the community.
- Demonstrate high standards of professionalism.
- Promotes a work and service environment that is respectful, collegial and supportive.
- Demonstrates creativity and initiative in improving service quality.
- Serves as a role model in the provision of excellent service
This award is presented annually to a staff member from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in recognition of excellence and action in demonstrating the value of inclusion, equity and diversity in our university community.
Eligibility
Faculty, staff and students may nominate a staff employee, but an employee cannot self-nominate.
- Candidate must be a current full-time employee of the University.
- Candidate must have been employed full-time at the University for a minimum of 12 months.
- Staff Council members are not eligible to be nominated for this award.
Selection Criteria
Nominee should meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrates efforts to make TAMUK a more equitable, diverse, inclusive and respectful institution.
- Builds and/or promotes a set of practices and behaviors within the workplace, team or among individuals that enables staff, faculty and/or students to understand, communicate, and effectively interact with people across differences, real or perceived.
- Creates a sense of belonging where staff, faculty and/or students are recognized and valued for their uniqueness; and promotes TAMUK as a place where individuals can be their authentic selves.
This award is presented annually to a staff member from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in recognition of excellence in leadership as demonstrated through their work over the past year on a specific project, activity or with a team.
