Most students who are flagged for verification by the Department of Education (DOE) will not need to provide verification of family size and income for the 2021-2022 FAFSA cycle.

The process of applying for financial aid is becoming faster thanks to a change in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) verification process by the U.S. Department of Education.

Most students who are flagged for verification by the Department of Education (DOE) will not need to provide verification of family size and income for the 2021-2022 FAFSA cycle, according to the Office of Student Financial Aid. Some students may have to verify their identity and high school completion. Texas A&M-Kingsville received the waiver authorization, which will make it faster for students to receive their financial aid award package.

This will enhance the university’s ongoing effort to remove financial barriers for students.

The changes to the verification process will also help expedite the financial aid awarding process for students who submit a 2021-2022 FAFSA. The Office of Student Financial Aid encourages all eligible students who have not submitted a FAFSA to complete an application.
