Texas A&M System to recognize A&M-Kingsville professor

Dr. Manuel Flores, journalism and communications professor at Texas A&M University- Kingsville, has been selected for an award from the Texas A&M System.

Flores, who recently served as the NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative for A&M-Kingsville, will attend the Chancellor’s Summit on Diversity on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020 on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus in the Memorial Student Center. He will receive a gold medallion by Vice Chancellor, Dr. James Hallmark. 

According to the system, the award was created to recognize faculty and staff members throughout The A&M System for their commitment and dedication in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. Flores is one of ten who will be recognized at the summit.

Flores previously served as chair of the Art, Communications and Theatre Department. He has also sponsored the annual Tejano Heritage Award Banquet and Symposium which honors alumni who have been successful in the fields of politics, education, art, music, and service.
