KINGSVILLE (February 8, 2019) — The Zeta Beta student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville will be one of the recipients of the Outstanding Chapter Award at the annual conference next month.

Texas A&M-Kingsville is one of only two schools in the state and 27 in the nation to receive this award. It represents the top 10 percent of all HKN chapters worldwide. There are more than 260 HKN chapters around the world.

The Outstanding Chapter Award recognizes excellence in IEEE-HKN chapters for their activities. The award is based on the content and description of chapter activities that are contained in the Annual Chapter Report.

For the purposes of this award, emphasis is placed on service activities to the department, school, community and chapter. Equally important is promoting the goals of IEEE-HKN by inducting as many eligible undergraduate students as possible.
