Gerardo Espinoza, Lecturer of Music, Saxophone and Jazz Studies


Gerardo (Jerry) Espinoza, born in Laredo Texas, has been teaching saxophone and jazz studies at Texas A&M University of Kingsville since fall 2016. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance, spring 2013, at Texas A&M University of Kingsville, where he studied mainly with Professor James Warth and other adjunct Faculty in saxophone. In spring 2015, Mr. Jerry Espinoza received his Master’s in Jazz Studies at Texas State University, San Marcos Tx. There, he studied with Dr. Russell Haight and Professor Hank Hehmsoth.

During his years In TAMUK, he performed with Top Jazz Band , Wind Symphony, Concert Band, Jazz Combo 1 and the Latin ensemble, as well as various chamber groups such as Saxophone Quartet, Clarinet trio and clarinet choir. While getting his Masters in Jazz studies at TxState, he performed with The Top Jazz Band, Jazz Combo 1 and Salsa Del Rio. Currently, Mr. Jerry Espinoza is a freelance musician in the San Antonio/ Austin Texas, backing up various top 40s , salsa, Jazz Bands, Combos and R&B groups just to name a few.
