Dr. Seth Abugho

Assistant Professor, Agronomy and Weed Science

Dr. Seth Abugho joined Texas A&M University-Kingsville as an assistant professor in August 2021. He attained his postdoctoral training from Oregon State University working on cool-season grass systems in the Willamette Valley prior to his appointment as a faculty at TAMU-Kingsville. He obtained his PhD degree in Agronomy from Texas A&M University, MS degree in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences from the University of Arkansas, and Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.

Seth’s research interest fall within the broader area of Agronomy and Weed Science, with particular emphasis on weed management on specialty and row crop production. He published several research articles from peer-reviewed journals in weed and crop science. He teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in agronomy and weed science. Seth is an active member of the Weed Science Society of America, American Society of Agronomy, and Crop Science Society of America. He is a second generation agronomist.
