Continuing Education

What is a CEU?

A CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. It is a unit equivalent to ten contact hours of participation in a face-to-face or online program designed for professionals by an accredited institution.

The primary purpose of a CEU is to provide a permanent record of the instruction pertaining to educational or professional development of an individual who has completed one or more significant non-credit educational training.

SACS program criteria require several items be kept on file for each program:

  • A Syllabus for the program containing information about needs identification, learning outcomes, and instruction.
  • Documentation of program content which may be a set of program handouts, notes, and/or other materials
  • Very brief vitas for each of the instructors stating their qualifications to teach.
  • Program evaluations which include participant evaluations.*

CEU Certificate

Once all requirements have been met, CNED will mail the CEU official transcript to each qualified participant.

CEU Cost - per participant within one program is $25 per participant.
